Conrad du Toit

ABOUT ME

Conrad du Toit started his career as a student at Interbuild cc in 1997. He graduated in 1999 and started working as Project Engineer at Iscor Vanderbijlpark Works in 2000. He moved from consulting to contracting when he joined Group Five in 2004 where he started as a Site Engineer working in Oran, Algeria.  He was promoted to Site Manager in 2006 and subsequently Senior Site Agent during his time in Dubai, U.A.E. where he worked on several projects expanding Dubai International Airport. He moved back to South Africa in 2009 and completed his last project as Senior Site Agent expanding the University of Johannesburg, Soweto Campus.

In mid-2010 he moved to Group Five head office and started his career in planning and scheduling as the group looked to stop outsourcing this function and focus on pre-contract execution planning. With an operations based foundation and drawing on his experience as a Site Manager he also has all the traits of a real planner where the detail really matters. This proved the perfect combination as it ensured proper plans resulting on tenders submitted and won based on the correct time, resources and price and ultimately resulting in a higher success rate during the execution phase.

 

In 2019, Conrad started the company Du Toit Time Management (PTY) LTD, providing professional planning, programme and scheduling services for construction projects in South Africa through all phases of a construction project.  Over the last 23 years Conrad has been exposed to a vast array of projects both in South Africa, Africa and the Middle East.

Conrad's project expertise extends from engineering projects to all types of commercial projects and includes BIM (4D, 5D & Coordination facilitation through red-lining and clash detection). He has extensive experience in construction management and planning (preparation of tender programme and P&G during tender phase as well as Project Planner/ Management during execution phase and Forensic planning including “cause and effect” and “delay & disruption” claims post project completion).

He strongly believes in an outcomes-based and goal-orientated approach and always seeks the best solutions for any given project with regards to time related/ construction programme aspects and what would be required to achieve the projects required timelines and goals.
